NEXT MEETING

Terry Souders, our own PVAC Board Secretary, will present Realism in Watercolor, a demonstration and discussion of the special techniques and “trade secrets” he uses to develop realism in his paintings. Terry’s paintings of rural scenes of the northeast and shores of the Atlantic stimulate the imagination and emotions of the viewers. Each painting has a story that “illustrates” a moment in time that will inspire others to remember similar experiences in their own lives.

Terry’s schooling at Penn State University in Art, Architecture, Civil Engineering and Landscape Architecture formed the foundation of his realistic approach to painting that was further refined at the Baum School of Art in Allentown. Terry is a Signature Member of Philadelphia Water Color Society and his work is shown throughout the region including the Reading Public Museum, the Goggleworks in Reading, the Hill School Center of the Arts in Pottstown and the annual Avalon, NJ Art Show.

CURRENT NEWS

“Paint, paint, paint!”, says Glenn Harren

“Paint, paint, paint!” That was the advice given by artist Glenn Harren to the group at our September 20th meeting. Glenn displayed a few of his large oil paintings and sketches and carried on a relaxed chat with us sharing insights to his approach to painting. Glenn stressed the importance of practice through sketching and painting, “cover a square mile of canvasses” or do “10,000 miles of paintings”. That may sound impossible, but with Glenn’s obvious

SEASON WRAP-UP PICNIC

SEASON WRAP-UP PICNIC A great evening was enjoyed at our annual potluck picnic on June 21st. There were no elections of officers this year, but we had some lively discussion (all with our mouths full of yummy food) about upcoming programs and a suitable place to hold them. (We will be holding steady for the upcoming season at Encore Center in Harleysville.)

YOUR PVAC NEWSLETTER

YOUR PVAC NEWSLETTER How many years has Dave Thomas unfailingly put together the PVAC monthly newsletter? No one seems to accurately remember but Dave has been cranking them out for a LONG time. Dave has finally reached the point where he has decided to hand the job on to someone else.

THANK YOU DAVE!

A HUGE THANK YOU TO DAVE for the many years of newsletter production! Dave was a one-man band and an ace at pulling the old “rabbit from the hat trick” to make sure PVAC members had the latest up- to-date information. He created the newsletter with (what appeared to the rest of us) ease, and he did this so well for so long that we fear we may have taken it for granted.
