Acrylic and Oil Painting with Rich Godshall - Fall 2024
Join us for this four-week acrylic painting class.
This class will be geared to adults who are already familiar with acrylic and oil painting as well as those with little or no experience. We will cover the basics as well as some more advanced issues regarding composition, color, and value - the three components that can make or break a painting. We will generally be working from photographic references that you have taken. Should you wish to set up a still life that would also be fine.
This class also welcomes oil painters who are familiar with their medium.
If you have painted with acrylics previously then bring the supplies you are familiar with. If you do not have any supplies I will be issuing a supply list.
I would like to say do not be intimidated by some paint and brushes. It's a fun class and you're gonna have a good time!
Students will supply their own easel and usual painting supplies. Bring your photos and imagination.
Class taught by Rich Godshall, a PVAC member. Rich worked in the graphics art field as an illustrator, designer and art director before opening Off the Wall Gallery in 2002. He has now retired and devotes time to painting landscapes in acrylic. He is influenced by the Hudson River School painters and the New Hope Impressionists. He previously taught painting for many years at Abington Adult Evening School.
