    Meet Artist Mandy Martin

Join a discussion about vibrant color, expressive lines, and splashing paint.

"My artwork is about being free to experience life! I paint with bold colors and expressive brushstrokes because life is too short to hold back. When I look at flowers or a landscape, I see a miraculous display of color and movement unfolding before my eyes. To capture that feeling of wonder, I exaggerate color, contrast and shape. Layers of acrylic wash and splashing paint create the sense spontaneous joy I feel when observing nature. Every brushstroke reflects the freedom to express what is moving me."

Meet Dot Bunn - Studio Oil Painter

Dot Bunn is a full time studio oil painter who lives and works in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.

She has a strong commitment to working with and teaching traditional methods of painting. Dot believes that spontaneity and intuition are only useful when paired with a strong background in drawing and value management. She is committed to merging the lessons of those who have gone before her as well as embracing the latest tools of technology.

Dot will present a digital slide presentation to discuss why great paintings work in both color control and composition. Both classical and contemporary work will be shown and discussed in relation to their color and compositional design. Included will be Dot’s method of developing a painting from her digital photography to finished work.

Dot is known for saying that “Good paintings are the result of intelligent planning and the endless study of technique and process. My paintings are thoughtfully developed by design, with preliminary drawings using traditional methods of composition built on the geometry of rectangles much the same as was done by painters dating back to the Renaissance. I enjoy the challenge of building a composition that works two dimensionally while depicting reality”.
