Our March Art Talk features Fred Danziger

"Being an artist is usually something done in an individual manner. We often are alone in our studios or painting on site. But artists are also part of a larger community and their work is often meant to "speak" to both other artists and the society around them. This talk will focus on both aspects of being an artist- the individual and the community- and how they interact and are both necessary for our work."

Fred Danziger is a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He is a graduate of The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and has had over 30 solo shows in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and New York City. His work is in the permanent collections of 14 American museums. In 2018, he won an EMMY for his work as an illustrator for documentary films. As a curator and art collector, in 2020, he established the group “101 Artists.” The group has had major exhibits at PAFA in Philadelphia, The Southern Alleghenies Museum in Loretto, Buckham Gallery in Flint Michigan, Western Wyoming Community College in Rock Springs Wyoming, Rosemont College, West Chester University and several regional art centers.
